Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Visual.ly
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. In fact, the chances that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman?s death are about 1 in 36 or about 3%. This is just one of the reasons why we wanted to create this infographic. It doesn?t matter if you are a man or a woman, breast cancer does not care. Just have a look at the history behind this deadly disease; women have been battling this disease since the time of the Egyptians! Oh and by the way, did you know that the actress Christina Applegate was diagnosed and survived breast cancer? You might be surprised to see how many prominent women have been diagnosed with breast cancer and beat it! For those people who wish to get more involved this month, they will find a full list of some of the best breast cancer fundraising events in the world! While you are at it, you might also want to check out a few of the leading breast cancer organizations, which will be accepting donations all month long. It is our sincerest hope that more people will decide to make 2012 the year to get involved and support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This infographic has been brought to you by Know Cancer, the cancer social network.
