The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for over 2,500 high pressure scuba diving hoses after receiving 9 complaints of burst hoses.

About the Recalled Scuba Diving Hoses?

  • The hose can rupture, resulting in a risk of drowning?because of a decreased air supply.
  • Manufactured by Li Chung Plastics Ind. Co. Ltd, of Taiwan.
  • Sold by three different companies: Innovative Scuba Concepts, Trident Diving Equipment, and A-Plus Marine.
  • Sold from August 2011 to August 2012 for $40 to $50.
  • Consumers should stop using the product and call to obtain a free replacement hose.

Description of Recalled Scuba Diving Air Hoses

  • The hoses are black braided high pressure air hoses that measure 1 cm in diameter, and range from 6 inches to 40 inches in length.
  • Production date codes are stamped onto the metal fitting.
  • Sold under the Phantom and Mesh Flex brands.
