'X Factor' Jahmene Douglas signs record deal with Sony

Jahmene Douglas has signed a record deal.

The X Factor finalist is the latest contestant to ink a contract with Sony following his departure from the show earlier this month.

"@JahmeneDouglas and @Ella__Henderson have both signed for Sony. Congratulations!! #xfactor," the show's Twitter account announced.

Reacting to the news, Douglas tweeted: "Eeek .. My excitement always takes time to kick in :-p but I think it's slowly slipping in just what's in store for me :-) woooo xx."

Douglas follows Ella Henderson and Union J as the runners-up to sign a record deal following the end of the series.

X Factor winner James Arthur won a recording contract with Syco as part of his prize and has revealed plans to release his debut album as soon as possible.
