St. Paul: Ford submits demolition plan for shuttered factory
The Ford Motor Co. has submitted a plan to the city of St. Paul outlining the decommissioning and demolition of its old factory in the Highland Park neighborhood.
The application for the plan can be reviewed on the city's website at stpaul.gov/index.aspx?NID=5066.
A public meeting on the plan will be hosted by the Community Development Committee of the Highland District Council at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 S. Snelling Ave.
Additionally, a public hearing will be held by the St. Paul City Council at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20.
After 86 years of operation, Ford's Twin Cities Assembly Plant closed last December.
A public task force is advising the city on redeveloping the 122-acre site as Ford prepares to sell it.
