II. The INTERIM DIRECTOR OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

A personal faith in Christ and a love for the church, and enthusiasm for faith-related learning

Familiarity with the Presbyterian Church USA , its theology and doctrine

Excitement for and experience in working with Youth and Young Adults

Good organizational and administrative skills

College graduate

Willingness to work as part of the ministry team (not a lone ranger position)

Willingness to serve under the authority of the church

Be flexible in any ?gray? areas of the job description

Good verbal and written communication skills with the Session, committees, parents and staff

Maturity and dependability in matters of personal responsibility

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Youth Ministries (Mid High and Senior High programs to be run separately)
Develop and direct weekly Mid High youth program
Develop and direct weekly Senior High youth program
Recruit and train volunteers
Supervise Youth Intern
Responsible for separate Mid High and Senior High Sunday School classes, including curriculum for each
Organize and lead fall, spring and summer retreats, evaluate options & recommend camps for Youth
Involve youth in service projects
Promote youth participation in worship
Build individual relationships
Assist with VBS, Kidz and mid-week church program.
Young Adults (College aged, young married and unmarried)
Develop Young Adult program, including Sunday School class, social events, Bible Study, camps/trips, etc.
Confirmation
Run confirmation program/classes for confirmation youth
Coordinate mentor program
Administration
Supervised by and meet weekly with pastor
Attend monthly staff meetings
Serve on Education Committee
Help prepare annual Education budget and work within approved budget
Participate in orientation program and regular staff team rounding
Write youth and young adult articles for monthly newsletter
Prepare monthly activity bulletins/notifications for parents of youth
Prepare slide presentations for worship
Update website

COMPENSATION ? Commensurate with experience
